5. Battery separators:
In various types of lead-acid batteries, except for a few special combinations of plates with a wide gap between the plates, a separator is inserted between the two plates to prevent the positive and negative plates from contacting each other and short circuit. This separator is covered with small holes, which can ensure the passage of the electrolyte, and can block the contact between the positive and negative plates, control the reaction speed, and protect the battery. The separator has several kinds of wood, rubber, microporous rubber, microporous plastic, glass, etc., which can be selected appropriately according to the type of battery. The separator of the adsorptive sealed battery is made of ultra-fine glass silk wool, which can adsorb the electrolyte in the separator, and the name of the adsorptive sealed battery is also derived from it.
